Main Objective                               -   Establish a wholesale market for vegetables and fruits to implement as                                                                 Collecting Centre.

Specialized Crops                        -   Low country vegetables specially Pumpkin, Kekiri, Ash pumpkin, Water                                                                melon, Brinjals, Long beans and Bitter gourd.

Volume of Sale                             -    Average volume of sale per week is 2000 MT.

Board of Management                -       

This Economic Center is fully owned by the Ministry of Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives & Consumer Services.A Management Trust has been appointed to control the activities of the Economic Centre and  the Chairman of this Trust is the Additional Secretary of the Ministry. The Secretary of the Trust is the Divisional Secretary of Thambuththegama.
