Powers and Functions of the Commission

To determine the principles to be followed by Co-operative Societies in matters of recruitment, appointment and promotion of all employees with the concurrence of the Commissioner of Co-operative.
To appoint advisory bodies to assist the Commission in determining qualifications for recruitment and fixing and revising salary scales and deciding conditions of services.
To resolve employee's disputes, examine and take legal action against Co-operative Societies which fail to carryout orders given by the Commission.
To conduct necessary inquiries on appeals presented to the Commission.
To instruct the respective societies to give effect to directions issued by the Commission regarding an employee.
To implement seminars and training programmes towards developing Human - Resources.
To determine policies on granting gratuity and other benefits to co-operative employees.
