Powers and Functions of the Commission
- To determine the principles to
be followed by Co-operative Societies in matters
of recruitment, appointment and promotion of
all employees with the concurrence of the Commissioner
of Co-operative.
- To appoint advisory bodies to
assist the Commission in determining qualifications
for recruitment and fixing and revising salary
scales and deciding conditions of services.
- To resolve employee's disputes,
examine and take legal action against Co-operative
Societies which fail to carryout orders given
by the Commission.
- To conduct necessary inquiries
on appeals presented to the Commission.
- To instruct the respective societies
to give effect to directions issued by the Commission
regarding an employee.
- To implement seminars and training
programmes towards developing Human - Resources.
To determine policies on granting
gratuity and other benefits to co-operative employees.
